By the end of the episode, Rick and Tayla had pocketed a $10,000 challenge win, Adam had made an off-site dash to cut tiles and Jolene had reached the point where even a pep talk from Shelley Craft could not make the deadline look less terrifying.

The Cursio Brothers Become The Main Ensuite Story

House 4's waterproofing trouble was bad enough for site manager Aido to call in reinforcements. Anthony and Adrian Cursio were already locked in with Chantel and Wyatt, but Gino and Michael stepped in to help Courtney and Sev get their work moving.

That was a welcome sight for House 4, and a much less welcome sight for the teams who had spent the previous weeks helping them find trades. Wyatt pointed out that his house had helped Courtney and Sev with waterproofers in Week 1, tilers in Week 2 and waterproofers again the night before.

Rick was not thrilled either. He said he had been fighting the battle from day one without getting an extra pair of hands. With Main Ensuite week already squeezing every team, the Cursio family expansion quickly became the latest thing everybody had an opinion about.

Adam And Jolene Run Out Of Room To Move

While the trade debate brewed elsewhere, Adam and Jolene had a far more immediate problem. Foreman Dan warned that if their tiling did not begin straight away, a disaster was coming.

The timing could not have been worse. The teams were sent off to compete for $10,000 and the return of the Bonus Point Gnome, with a flat-pack dog kennel standing between them and the prize.

Rick and Tayla took one look at the job, binned the modest kennel concept and built a full dog mansion instead. The gamble paid off, giving them the cash and the Gnome just when everybody could use a boost.

For Adam and Jolene, the challenge did not fix the bigger problem waiting back on site. With power tools off limits after 6pm, Adam had to leave the build to cut the remaining tiles. By the time he returned, their tilers had finished for the day.

Jolene admitted they were in serious trouble, while Adam delivered the bleak verdict: 'Yeah, we're done.' It was not a dramatic walk-off or a tactical tantrum. It was the much more painful Block feeling of watching the clock keep moving while the room refuses to catch up.

A Tough Talk For House 4

The tears at House 1 brought out Shelley's softer side. She reminded Adam and Jolene they were not alone, and the pair began talking about resetting with a tiler who could handle the pace of the competition.

Courtney and Sev got a different kind of intervention. Scott Cam and Shelley were in no mood to offer sympathy after their expensive week, warning the pair that they could become the first team in Block history not to finish because of money.

Scott's message was simple: they needed to rein it in. House 4 may have had more hands on deck, but the budget pressure was still sitting right in the middle of their Main Ensuite plan.

A Winery Lunch Does Not Stop The Countdown

With the public holiday giving everyone a brief break from site, Scott took the teams to a winery lunch. Naturally, it was not allowed to remain a quiet lunch for long. An egg-and-spoon race decided which team would take home a case of Crittenden wine for their future fridge.

It was a rare chance to laugh, reset and get out of the dust for a few minutes. But the episode made one thing very clear: Sunday night is coming fast, and all five Main Ensuites still need to make it across the finish line.
