After the Main Bedroom and Walk-in Robe reveal, the Blockheads were straight into Open for Inspections. The judges' brutal description of one room as a 'high-end coffin' was still hanging over the houses, and nobody seemed especially convinced it had been overstated.

Adam summed up the mood with a line that was both grim and, unfortunately, accurate: it would be a nice place to die.

Lisa And Rosco Hit A Double-Shower Wall

Fresh from their Room Reveal win, Lisa and Rosco wanted to carry that momentum into the ensuite. Lisa had a big plan involving patterned tile flooring and a double shower, but the site had other ideas.

At Beaumont, Lisa kept asking whether the tile plan could be made to work until she got the answer she wanted. Back at the build, though, Foreman Dan had a much firmer no for the double shower. The pair could not remove the bathroom window to make it happen.

Dan's message was that the couple had to put on their 'big person's pants' and deal with it. Rosco's response was to play a fart sound down the phone while speaking to his pregnant wife, which was a choice.

The shower was not the only design debate. Lisa also wanted microcement in the space, while Rosco and Dan were unconvinced. A room win is great, but it does not make ensuite planning suddenly simple.

Courtney's Health Scare Stops The Momentum

Over at House 4, Courtney's supraventricular tachycardia, known as SVT, flared up. She explained that the condition can cause a very fast or irregular heartbeat, and said her heart rate can reach 230 beats per minute.

Courtney took herself to the bathroom and called Lisa, who is a paramedic, while Sev was not on site. Lisa talked her through the episode from the phone, and Courtney was able to get it under control without an ambulance being called.

It was a confronting moment for the team. Courtney said she did not feel embarrassed by having SVT, but found it difficult when she could not talk or function normally during an episode. Sev became emotional when Courtney later explained what had happened, saying it was hard to know Courtney had tried not to worry anyone.

The build carried on, but the scene brought a genuine pause to a week that had otherwise been all waterproofing, tile choices and frantic bathroom planning.

A Getaway With No Off Switch

Lisa and Rosco headed off for their winners' getaway at Alba Thermal Springs and Spa, although Rosco was finding it difficult to enjoy the luxury while thinking about the work piling up at the house.

Lisa pointed out that everyone else was having a relaxing day. Rosco's answer was that they were not building a house. Fair enough, really.

A massage eventually helped, even if it involved Rosco wearing very tight, mostly see-through women's underwear for reasons the episode never fully explained. This is the kind of detour The Block can produce when it takes contestants out of the mud for five minutes.

Darren Palmer Clears The Air

While the winners were away, the remaining Blockheads welcomed Darren Palmer back to site. He returned to expand on the 'light, white and bright' advice that had caused confusion earlier in the season.

Darren's point was not that every room needed to be stripped of colour. He encouraged the teams to be bolder in the smaller, non-communal spaces, rather than treating every corner of the house as though it had to follow the same safe formula.

That clarification could be useful as the teams push through their ensuites and look ahead to living and dining rooms. There is plenty of time for a green cushion yet.
