The key word here was unproven. That did not stop the rumour from travelling at record speed.

Lisa And Rosco’s Costly Start

Before everyone could settle into House 2 detective mode, Lisa and Rosco had a disaster of their own. Lisa drove over a piece of TRUECORE steel, and GMac was not remotely persuaded by the hope that it would simply buff out.

The damaged steel was destined for the outside of their home, which meant a replacement bill was now joining a $30,000 weekly budget. GMac’s verdict, 'That’s maggoted', said just about everything. It was the kind of early-week mistake that can turn one annoying expense into a very long few days.

House 2 Comes Under The Microscope

Then came the waterproofing. Chantel and Wyatt were the first team approved to start the next stage on Tuesday, and that progress had Spence, filling in while Rick recovers, wondering how House 2’s tilers had managed it.

His theory was that the Cursio brothers had returned to the site after hours to put down the second waterproofing coat. With four hours of drying time needed between coats, Spence could not see how the job could otherwise be ready for tiling first thing in the morning.

Tayla heard the theory and took it straight to the nuclear option, accusing House 2 of shady behaviour. Spence was less certain, but he and Tayla still confronted the brothers, leaving Adrian Cursio to answer a question that was suddenly echoing across the entire site.

Adrian’s response was wonderfully unfazed. He said the work had been done efficiently, then produced timestamped video showing the brothers leaving site on time. The pair also keep records of their workday for invoicing, so they had far more paperwork than anyone launching a site rumour probably expected.

The Rumour Outruns The Evidence

That should have settled things. Instead, the claim moved from House 5 to House 4, then House 3, House 1 and back around again. By sunset, it had all the ingredients of peak The Block: one suspicious timeline, several increasingly confident opinions and not much actual proof.

Lisa and Rosco were the ones who first heard the allegation, and Lisa immediately clocked how explosive it could become. Her warning that fists could fly was dramatic, but the mood on site was already doing plenty of work without anyone needing to throw one. Every team was watching House 2’s progress and wondering whether they had missed a trick.

The sticking point was not that Chantel and Wyatt were ahead. It was whether the timetable could really account for two waterproofing coats and the drying time before the tilers moved in. That is why the timestamped footage mattered. It did not stop people asking questions, but it gave House 2 a direct answer when the whisper campaign became an on-site confrontation.

Lisa, who had enough steel-related trouble of her own, eventually pointed out that there was no evidence to support the cheating claim. Chantel was equally unmoved, deciding the attention probably meant House 2 was doing something right.

Jolene’s bewildered reaction was the most relatable one. Everyone had plenty to say, but nobody had produced a rule breach. For now, House 2 had a video, a work record and a site full of competitors who still were not buying it.

Guest Suite Week is already delivering more side-eye than serenity. Whether the waterproofing argument has legs or simply becomes another Block-site myth, it has put Chantel and Wyatt under a brighter spotlight just as the build pressure ramps up.
