It was a very good day for House 3. It was also another reminder that nobody on this site gets to have just one problem at a time.

Rick And Tayla’s Herringbone Panic

Rick and Tayla met with their real estate team and immediately found themselves questioning a major choice for their house. Their agent was not a fan of the herringbone flooring they had planned to use throughout, which sent Tayla straight into a panic.

She worried the floor could cost them The Block, before another real estate agent, and a friend, helped bring the temperature down. The herringbone stayed. By the next day, Scotty and Shelley were also talking up the look on their walkaround, so the crisis was at least temporarily downgraded.

Lisa And Rosco Share Their Secret

For Lisa and Rosco, the renovation pressure was more immediate. Delays had cut into the time their plasterer had to limewash the walls, leaving the team facing the prospect of a second unfinished room in a row and a possible switch to plain white paint.

Amid all that, Lisa went for what was meant to be a quiet pregnancy scan. Rosco had already told Foreman Dan, so it was not exactly a tightly held secret by the time she was confirmed to be nearly 11 weeks pregnant.

At the evening tennis challenge, Lisa and Rosco made the announcement to the rest of the Blockheads. Lisa joked that they had been ‘cheating’ the whole time, with their unborn baby as the third person on site. The other teams responded with hugs, which also looked like a sensible way to stay warm in the rain.

A Win On The Wet Court

The tennis tournament had a $5,000 prize on the line, plus an all-white dress code that was brave for the weather. Wyatt found pants that fit, Rick took the most public hit to his dignity, and Lisa and Rosco finished as the challenge winners.

That result did not fix their plastering timetable, but it gave House 3 a welcome moment to celebrate while the rooms remained on a knife edge.

Sev Explains Her Wigs

Scotty and Shelley’s Friday walkarounds brought another personal moment. In House 4, they noticed that Sev’s hair closely matched the blush cabinetry in the walk-in robe.

Sev explained that she wears wigs because she has hair thinning and alopecia. The exchange was handled simply, then it was back to the job at hand, including Sev taking on some tiling herself with advice from the Cursio brothers outside the house.

That last detail could become very important. The episode closed with a Sunday Room Reveal preview in which Marty described Sev’s tiling as ‘absolutely on the piss’, so the next judging has already found its potential headline.
