The former Australian Survivor host has addressed speculation about a possible return, saying he would be open to fronting the series again if it moved to another network.
Speaking to PEDESTRIAN.TV while promoting the new BINGE reality series Apocalypse, LaPaglia said: “If another network took on the show and they wanted me to come back, I would totally be open to that.”
LaPaglia also said he did not feel he had completed everything he wanted to do as host. After more than a decade around challenges, blindsides and brutal final votes, he still felt there was more of the job left to master.

The chatter follows a New Idea report claiming Endemol Shine Australia had pitched Australian Survivor to Channel Nine. An unnamed source alleged Nine would be interested in the format if LaPaglia returned as host.
That remains an unconfirmed claim. Neither Nine nor the production company has publicly announced a network move, and LaPaglia's comments amount to an enthusiastic “yes” if the hypothetical call ever comes.
His departure from Australian Survivor was announced in June 2025 after 11 seasons, with former winner David Genat taking over the hosting role.
LaPaglia told PEDESTRIAN.TV he did not watch the most recent season, joking that the episodes were no longer sent to him. He also argued that replacing him had been a mistake because of the trust he had built with viewers over 10 years.

Fans will next hear LaPaglia rather than see him presiding over a vote. He is narrating Apocalypse, a social experiment that drops a group of people into an abandoned city without power, food, water or rules for 28 days.
The role sounds considerably more comfortable than filming Survivor in Samoa. LaPaglia described the narration sessions as relaxed, complete with an air-conditioned booth and cold water, compared with memorising pages of material while surrounded by cameras on location.
Apocalypse premieres on Wednesday, 16 September on BINGE and Foxtel On Demand, with new episodes released weekly.
As for another Australian Survivor chapter, LaPaglia is clearly willing. All he needs now is that phone call.
