The South Australian farmer is now dating Melbourne show-horse rider Isabella “Bella” Bould, and the couple have opened up about how an Instagram message, a missed joke and a flight to Adelaide brought them together.
In an interview with New Idea, Dylan and Bella said they are happily navigating the distance between Melbourne and his farm in Cherry Gardens without putting pressure on their next step.
Bella First Spotted Dylan On TikTok
Bella first noticed Dylan in a TikTok clip and thought he looked “really cute”. She then found him on Instagram and sent a cheeky message asking whether he did weddings as the groom.
There was just one problem. Channel Seven was still controlling Dylan’s social media accounts while his season was on air, so he never saw the message.
Bella tried again once the season finished, adding Dylan on Facebook. That prompted him to find her original Instagram message, and the pair began talking regularly before deciding to meet.
Rather than drawing out the online stage, Bella flew from Melbourne to Adelaide for their first date. She said the meeting felt easy and natural, with none of the awkwardness that can come when an online connection moves into real life.
Dylan And Bella Are Making Long-Distance Work
The couple are now splitting their time between Victoria and South Australia, making the most of each visit rather than treating the distance as a crisis to solve immediately.
Their approach is simple: “We’re a team, so we’ll work it out.”
Dylan is not expecting Bella to move straight to his family property. That is a noticeable shift from the structure of Farmer Wants A Wife, where relationships are tested around the question of whether a partner can build a life on a farmer’s land.
He said that element of the show could feel pressured and forced. With Bella, the pair can discuss their future without a television timeline or an assumption that only one person must make the sacrifice.
Dylan has previously said the show helped him communicate more openly in relationships. He credited those lessons with preparing him for life with Bella when he first spoke publicly about their romance earlier this month.
Their shared love of horses has also given them an immediate connection. Bella has spent about 15 years riding show horses, while Dylan competes in rodeo and saddle bronc events.
They Have Already Met Each Other’s Families
Although the relationship is still relatively new, Dylan and Bella have already met each other’s families. Bella has also formed a close bond with Dylan’s sister, and the couple are planning to spend a large family Christmas together.
They have told each other they are in love, but neither is rushing towards moving in, marriage or children. Instead, they are taking comfort from wanting a similar kind of future and giving the relationship space to develop at its own pace.
Dylan has even started imagining what that future property might look like. He would like to own a larger block away from his current farm, with room for horses rather than livestock. It is a plan that happens to fit neatly with Bella’s equestrian background.
Dylan’s New Romance Comes After His Split From Ally
Dylan chose Ally at the end of the 2026 season, but the pair later realised their plans were heading in different directions. Dylan remained focused on rodeo and travel, while Ally wanted to feel that a shared future was being actively chosen.
The former couple ultimately decided they were not compatible long-term and remained on friendly terms after the split.
Dylan has since said his experience on the show prepared him for his relationship with Bella, particularly by forcing him to have honest conversations about feelings and commitment.
For now, the couple are not trying to race ahead of themselves. The flights between Melbourne and Adelaide may take planning, but Dylan and Bella say the trust between them makes the time apart manageable and the time together even more valuable.
