The self-described “classy bogans” told TV WEEK that the friction began on the very first night, when they felt other teams were making “little digs” at them.
Alisha is happy to laugh at herself, including her confusion over whether chervil might be an animal. But the mood changed after she commented on a word used by another contestant, only for judge Colin Fassnidge to use the same word while critiquing the food.
That was enough for Alisha, who remembered thinking she was done and “ready to flip the table”. She and Deanne walked outside, with Colin following them out of the restaurant.
Despite the dramatic exit, Alisha insisted there was no bad blood with the judge. She laughed that “Colin loved me and Dee”.

The tension was not limited to the walkout. Deanne said NSW food stylist Jane and her husband Shane were not great company, while Alisha felt the couple kept themselves apart from the rest of the table.
She pointed to the pair sitting out group conversations and even refusing to join an impromptu limbo session because it apparently was not their kind of activity.
There may be a friendlier connection forming elsewhere. Adelaide teacher Simon, who is competing with funeral director Angus, appears to have taken a shine to Deanne. Her response to the suggestion was simple: “What’s not to like?”
Alisha and Deanne have known each other since childhood and describe themselves as inseparable. Both are parents of teenagers, both admit they have no filter, and they already have a cheeky cosmetic plan for the $100,000 prize money if they win.
