The My Kitchen Rules contestant told Chattr that she asked Jane to explain the remark. Lucy recalled Jane struggling to answer and said she was surprised the exchange did not make the episode.

Lucy Recalls An Apology At The Table

According to Lucy, Jane apologised at Tiffany and Giancarlo’s Instant Restaurant the following night, in front of the other contestants.

“She actually apologised to me in front of the whole table for that comment,” Lucy said.

She says that scene was omitted too. Jane’s own recollection of the conversation is not included in the interview.

Lucy And Krysten Still Stand By The Portrayal

Despite those omissions, Lucy and her mother Krysten believe the contestants’ personalities and behaviour on screen match what they experienced at the dinner table.

Krysten said she had seen online discussion about the edit but felt the teams were coming across as she remembered them.

“What you see is what you get,” she said.

Jane has taken a different view, questioning her edit while defending her focus on presentation. Alisha and Deanne have also described conversations and context they say viewers missed.

Tiffany and Giancarlo’s assessment has been more sympathetic. In their 7NEWS interview, they acknowledged problems with Jane’s delivery while describing her commitment to her profession. Tiffany felt the criticism directed at Jane was unfair.

By Lucy’s account, the apology came before Jane and Shane took their own turn in the kitchen. Their Instant Restaurant ended with the couple’s elimination.
