By the end of the night, Tayla and Jolene were at the centre of the chaos. But before that, the teams had a community to impress and some Ranch 2.0 rooms to turn around.

The Community Challenge Had A Real Point

The teams were working on apartments for the Mornington Community Support Centre while still trying to keep their own weekly rooms moving. That double workload made the shared van, paint choices and available hands feel especially precious.

Tayla and Lisa had already tried to dodge pre-start by staging a car breakdown, only to arrive to news that the planned terracotta wall for the kids' room had been changed to blue. The colour switch became another small flashpoint in a day full of them.

Adam and Rosco changed direction in their Ranch 2.0 kids' room after hearing the intended tenant would not like their original terracotta, caramel and coffee palette. The new blue wall was a practical pivot, and it set the tone for a challenge where listening to the people who would actually use the rooms mattered more than following a pre-set plan.

The colour was not the only logistical headache. The teams were meant to share a van for orders and supplies, but the arrangement had become difficult enough for Jolene to take the complaint next door, where she found herself in a verbal back-and-forth with Charlotte.

Scott Cam and Shelley Craft judged alongside Mornington Community Support Centre CEO Ben. Apartment 4 earned praise for feeling lived-in rather than merely styled, with plenty of storage, a warm main bedroom and a flexible kids' room. Apartment 5 went even further, giving the judges a generous living and kitchen area, a cosy bedroom, a world-map feature and a bathroom that worked hard in a small footprint.

Apartment 5 took the win, with Chantel and Wyatt and Courtney and Sev each receiving $5,000. It was the rare result that felt bigger than a leaderboard, because the finished spaces were heading to people who needed them. Ben was visibly moved by the way the rooms could become a home, not just somewhere to sleep.

A Stone Bath And An Olive Tree Cause Problems

The goodwill did not last long. House 2 received a large stone bath, which was then left on House 5's front yard. Tayla had wanted it for her own build and was quick to point out that the plumbing needed to make it work would cost about $11,000. The bath became another reminder that a gift can still land like a provocation on this site.

Scott and Shelley were taken through House 5's rumpus-room plans without anyone volunteering the bath-bin situation. It was an impressive bit of selective conversation, even by Block standards.

Then came Rick's olive tree. He thought it had been stolen, but Courtney was in on the prank and Wyatt was the person who returned it. Scott Cam went into detective mode, and Courtney quickly gave the game away.

Wyatt was given an hour to return the tree or face a punishment, so he complied with a catch. The tree came back with a note pretending Adam from House 1 had taken it. Rick bought the story, while Adam was left carrying blame for something he had not done.

Tayla And Jolene Finally Say It Out Loud

The episode's biggest confrontation started when Tayla spotted a tradie working at Adam and Jolene's house after hours. The worker was their plasterer and had permission to be there, but Tayla was not convinced. She tried to have him removed, argued the point with Adam and Jolene, then ran into their house to keep pressing the issue.

Jolene took that as a line being crossed. The two traded accusations, with Tayla saying she did not know Jolene well enough to trust her. Tayla also believed Adam had taken plants from her place. Courtney and Sev knew he had not, but that did little to cool the exchange in the moment.

Jolene's response was simple: if that was how Tayla wanted to play it, the gloves were off. It is not the kind of truce that survives an episode ending, especially with Tayla's plant allegation still hanging over Adam.
