The family connection has sparked plenty of interest during Taylor's run on The Voice Australia, where the Sydney singer earned a four-chair turn and made it to the 2026 Semi Final.

Who Is Taylor Beadle-Williams' Dad?

Mark Williams has been making music for more than 50 years. He launched his solo career in New Zealand during the 1970s, with Yesterday Was Just The Beginning Of My Life reaching number one, before moving to Australia in 1977.

Australian audiences may also know his 1990 hit Show No Mercy, his work on the Strictly Ballroom soundtrack and his time as a vocal coach on Popstars.

Mark joined Dragon as lead singer in 2006, fronting the reformed band decades after the late Marc Hunter helped make songs including April Sun In Cuba, Are You Old Enough? and Rain Australian rock staples.

He Sang The Original Home And Away Theme

Long before his daughter appeared on The Voice, Mark's vocals were already attached to one of Australian television's most recognisable songs.

He recorded the original Home and Away theme with Karen Boddington in 1987, with the duet accompanying the soap's opening titles when the show launched the following year.

Taylor has even performed the theme with her dad on stage. She told TV WEEK that she already knew every word when they began rehearsing it, thanks to growing up around Mark's music.

Taylor And Mark Perform Together

Taylor spent years watching her dad's gigs from the crowd, but their relationship now extends to sharing the stage. Mark accompanies her original songs, while Taylor has sung backing vocals at his shows.

She said performing together brought them even closer and made them “bestest friends on stage”. In a 2025 interview with Te Ao Māori News, Mark was just as warm about the partnership: “We just love singing together.”

Taylor's own career has crossed music and acting, including an appearance opposite The Voice coach Ronan Keating in Love Child. Her time on the Seven competition may have introduced her to a much bigger audience, but performing is very much a family tradition.
