Every member can create a public Reality Recap profile, with a username, bio, badges and followed shows.

Profiles are still deliberately simple, but they are the foundation for a more personal version of the site. Over time, they can help readers show which reality shows they follow and make the community feel less anonymous.

Follow Your Favourite Shows

Members can follow shows on Reality Recap, helping their profile reflect the programs they care about most.

Right now, followed shows appear on public profile pages, which also makes a member profile a quick way to jump back into the pages for favourite shows.

In the future, followed shows could help power more personalised parts of the site, such as smarter recommendations, notifications or member-only tools.

Badges For Members

Reality Recap now has member badges too.

The first 500 people to join receive an OG Member badge, marking them as part of the site’s earliest community. Everyone after that receives the standard Member badge.

It is a small detail, but it gives early readers a way to show they were here while Reality Recap was still growing into its community era.

Custom Website Settings

Members can also access custom website settings through their account page.

That includes preferences such as how comments are sorted, with more member-only customisation planned as the site grows.

Theme controls are also becoming part of the member experience, giving members the choice between light mode, dark mode and system mode.

No Ads For Now

Reality Recap membership is also temporarily ad-free.

Ads are likely to be introduced across the site soon, but free members will be able to avoid ads for free temporarily.

Eventually, an ad-free experience is expected to become part of a paid subscription. For now, joining as a member is a simple way to support the next stage of Reality Recap and get access to the community features already available.

The Start Of Something Bigger

The first version of membership is intentionally straightforward. Comments, profiles, badges, followed shows and settings are the foundation.

The bigger goal is to turn Reality Recap into a place where Australian reality TV fans can read, react, follow their favourite shows and feel part of the site as it grows.
