Monday’s episode picked up the fallout from Amanda saving Oli and sending Jarrar home. Nat remained upset that Oli had called her reaction to the dumping hilarious, and a large container of corn chips was doing its best to get her through it.

Oli Wants An Apology, Nat Has Advice

Some of the boys thought Nat’s response had gone too far, although they kept that discussion among themselves in the bedroom. Nobody seemed particularly eager to take on the role of villa mediator.

Before bed, Oli talked it through with Amanda and hoped Nat would apologise to her the next morning. Nat did speak to Amanda, but the conversation came with a suggestion about how Amanda should handle her next difficult decision.

She acknowledged that Amanda had needed to be selfish, then asked her to think about how everyone else would feel if a similar situation came up again.

Which is quite a request in a villa where saving one person can mean sending somebody else home. Amanda’s decision was already made, but the emotional invoice was apparently still being calculated.

Jordan And Zel Get A Power Move

Claudia and Austen, the 2022 winners, delivered the next opportunity to shake things up. Jordan and Zel received a Power Move each, offering dates outside the villa with their couple and another girl.

Jordan’s date with Shawnee was the pairing with obvious consequences for Lachie. His connection now had competition, and Jordan had an opportunity to make an impression away from the rest of the group.

Zel and Amanda also headed out on a date. For a moment, there was some actual romance happening around all the romantic fallout.

Clearing The Air Goes Badly

With fewer Islanders around, Nat approached Oli because she wanted the tension to end. Unfortunately, wanting an argument finished and agreeing on how it should finish turned out to be two very different things.

Oli asked whether things would have been easier for her if he had been the one sent home. Nat rejected the idea that she was only thinking about herself, then made clear that the two of them simply didn’t get along.

That was about as close as they came to common ground. The remaining Islanders watched another uncomfortable exchange, and the feud stayed firmly open for business.

In his piece to camera, Oli said he didn’t think Nat was taking responsibility for her behaviour and that she needed to grow up. Nat’s effort to end the tension had left him sounding even less convinced by her.

Shawnee Comes Back Smiling

The mood lifted when Zel and Amanda and Jordan and Shawnee returned from their dates. The debrief brought plenty of excitement, particularly around Amanda’s romantic adventures.

Shawnee also seemed pleased with what she had learned about Jordan. His large hands and interest in feet ticked some of her unusually specific boxes. It is certainly a more detailed compatibility checklist than “good sense of humour”.

Lachie now has a rival to think about, while Nat and Oli have yet to find a way past their disagreement. The next episode’s tease promises a steamy game, giving everyone another chance to make their love lives more complicated.

Love Island Australia continues tonight at 9.35pm on Nine and 9Now.
