Angus and Simon have questioned the suggestion that editing gave the wrong impression of their My Kitchen Rules co-star. Speaking to Chattr, Simon said her television portrayal matched how she came across to him.

“For me personally, that’s how she came across!” he said.

He also described the cast’s portrayal more broadly as accurate. His comments were a personal assessment of what viewers saw, rather than an account of how episodes were assembled.

Old Tensions Have Not Disappeared

Alisha and Deanne were similarly unconvinced by Jane’s explanation. Alisha told Chattr she was no longer speaking to Jane and felt she should take responsibility for her comments.

The pair believed Jane’s private critiques were harsher than her remarks at the table. Deanne also suspected Jane and Shane had scored strategically against them, although that remains her allegation.

Their strained relationship was evident before this interview. After Jane and Shane’s elimination, Alisha and Deanne told WHO that outlasting a team they had expected to do well felt satisfying.

Jane’s food-industry experience had raised expectations around her own Instant Restaurant. When its dishes fell short, the couple’s exit gave their rivals an opportunity to answer weeks of criticism.

Tiffany And Giancarlo See Another Side

Not everyone shared Angus and Simon’s view. Tiffany and Giancarlo told Chattr they got along with Jane and understood her direct approach through her work as a food stylist.

They saw professional scrutiny behind some of her sharper observations. Tiffany nevertheless felt certain remarks missed the mood of the room and did not defend everything Jane said.

Jane has also found a sympathetic ear in Colin Fassnidge, who has spoken warmly about her. The people around that table clearly did not all have the same experience of her.

Even Tiffany’s defence came with a limit: understanding where a critique comes from does not mean enjoying every helping of it.
