“My Reno Rules will not return in 2027,” the network told Chattr as it outlined the future of several reality formats around its Upfronts presentation.
The decision follows questions about a second season. Sponsor Adrian Portelli had told New Idea in June that he wanted to explore another run, while suggesting shorter episodes spread across two nights could help viewers stay invested.
A Big-Prize Debut Season
Hosted by Dr Chris Brown, the first season followed four teams transforming two neighbouring 1970s homes in Bulleen, Melbourne. Neale Whitaker, Simon Cohen and Julia Green judged the renovations.
Mitch and Shaz won the $1 million grand prize in the June finale. Two viewers also collected $2 million each through the show’s giveaway.
In its end-of-season announcement, Seven said the series averaged 755,000 viewers and reached 5.3 million Australians across its run. The finale averaged 719,000 and won its timeslot, according to the network.
Seven’s 2027 programming announcement includes Once In A Lifetime, which follows Brown on wildlife journeys with Australian personalities, and Neale Whitaker’s Forever Home, following Whitaker and his partner David Novak-Piper as they restore a cottage on the NSW South Coast.
The first season of My Reno Rules is available on 7plus.
