Nine has announced Season 23 will send five new teams to Jacksons Hill, where they will restore three heritage buildings and transform them into family homes.
The buildings were constructed about 170 years ago during the gold rush era. The site began as an industrial school before becoming a psychiatric hospital and, later, a university campus.
Scott Cam and Shelley Craft will return as co-hosts, challenging the contestants to preserve the historic buildings while delivering the high-end renovations expected from the series.
The confirmation follows recent speculation about changes to The Block’s on-screen team.
The Block Is Getting A Stan Spin-Off
The Block will also expand onto Stan in 2027 with a new spin-off called The Block: The House Next Door.
The Stan Original will bring back fan-favourite all-stars to renovate a sixth property over the fence from the five new teams.
Nine has not yet announced which former contestants will return or when either series will premiere.
The Block returns to Nine and 9Now in 2027. The Block: The House Next Door will stream on Stan.
