It was a rough day for more than one house. Lisa and Rosco were chasing cash, Courtney and Sev were holding a garage sale, and Chantel and Wyatt were stuck with the wrong fireplace. Wyatt had already been ready for tools down, and somehow the shared access through House 1 still became the issue nobody could put down.

A Water Feature Becomes Another Problem

Lisa had secured a water feature for House 3's front yard, precisely the kind of finishing touch Jolene wanted for House 1. Adam and Jolene were worried their own yard would be short on wow factor, but the version next door came with an expensive complication.

The purchase eventually unravelled because Lisa and Rosco could not afford the pond needed to make their water feature work. While Jolene was off-site, Rosco offered it to Adam for $7,000, then talked himself down to $5,000. House 1 had secured its finishing touch, but the access fight was still going.

The Gate Stays Open

House 3's crane, being used to lift sand into the yard, caused a clash with the Cursio brothers. Lisa took on the brothers and then Rosco, unimpressed that she was doing the arguing while he stood back. 'He'll just look pretty, and I'll fight the fights,' she complained.

Chantel and Wyatt had a different problem: the Trendz fireplace craned into their yard was the wrong design. Their intended fireplace had ended up at Lisa and Rosco's house. Adrian's suggestion to clad the replacement in the same stone as the house gave them a way to tie it into their design.

Meanwhile, the deadline for access through House 1's yard came and went. Adam was content to keep the gate open, but Jolene was not. She left the site for a breather and broke down in the car as the final-week pressure piled up.

Over the phone, she reminded Adam how much was riding on the finish: 'You are not acting like there's $50,000 on the line here.' The water-feature deal offered some relief, but it could not give Jolene her yard back.

The access did eventually have to move when House 1 needed to lay a concrete slab. That was not the clean break Jolene had hoped for, though. The route simply shifted, leaving the same sore point hanging over the last few days of the build.

Everybody Is Feeling The Finish Line

House 4's garage sale brought in $2,000. Courtney and Sev cooked for the tradies in their finished kitchen, then Sev offered up everything from a TV to Wallabies merchandise. With the landscaping budget stretched, it was a useful cash injection for the last few plants.

Friday's final walkarounds with Scott Cam and Shelley Craft turned emotional. Rick and Adam cried, Scotty handed out hugs, and a few teams entertained an All Stars return. Chantel and Wyatt were having none of it, with Chantel delivering a clear 'Hell no' to doing it all again.

Before the last Room Reveal, House 1 still needed to finish its own yard while the neighbours kept passing through. Closing that gate was proving almost as difficult as finishing the houses.

The Block continues Sunday at 7.00pm on Nine and 9Now.
