The comeback will reunite the pair after Meghan’s guest appearance on MasterChef Australia earlier this year. 10 announced her involvement ahead of its 2027 programming presentation.

Meghan said returning was “an easy yes” after enjoying her time with the team. “I love cooking with my own kids,” she said, adding that she was looking forward to seeing what the young contestants create.

Poh said she was “thrilled to bits” about the junior edition’s return and looking forward to working with Meghan again. The series is produced by Endemol Shine Australia.

Who Can Apply For Junior MasterChef Australia?

Applications are open for children from across Australia who will be aged nine to 13 on 1 May 2027. The casting team is looking for enthusiastic young cooks who enjoy experimenting, can prepare some dishes themselves and are keen to learn.

The application takes approximately 15 to 20 minutes and requires photographs and a short introduction video. A parent or guardian must help complete the form, give consent and review the answers and entry conditions.

Applications close on Sunday, 31 January 2027. Selected contestants must be available for two consecutive weeks of filming in the Melbourne MasterChef kitchen, with the exact dates still to be confirmed. A parent or guardian must also be available to accompany them as required.

Poh Has Two MasterChef Seasons Ahead

The junior comeback adds to Poh’s 2027 schedule, with the judge also returning for the main show’s 19th season alongside Andy Allen, Sofia Levin and Jean-Christophe Novelli.

Meghan’s earlier MasterChef appearance was filmed during her April visit to Australia and aired in July. She also has experience on a junior cooking competition, having appeared as a guest judge on the US series Chopped Junior in 2016.

Junior MasterChef Australia will air on 10 in 2027.
