The couple told TV WEEK how Adam’s son Kai visited the site after more than a year apart. With the pair tackling Backyard and Garage Week on The Block, having family nearby offered some relief from the renovation grind.
That reunion ended when a body corporate decision required visiting family and friends to leave the shared house. Adam felt the decision was driven by resentment from contestants without visitors of their own, although that was his interpretation of the dispute.
Jolene questioned the fairness of losing that time together when other contestants had been able to visit their children. She described it as “such a refreshing time” for their family.
Jolene And Courtney Clashed At Dinner
At an off-site dinner, Jolene raised the contrast between visitors making others uncomfortable and her own discomfort living with Wyatt.
She says Courtney defended him, leaving her feeling that her concerns had been dismissed. The interview gives Jolene’s recollection of that exchange, without a response from Courtney or Wyatt.
It is another glimpse of the complicated friendships that formed across the five houses, where getting along with one contestant did not necessarily mean getting along with their teammate.
An Apology Jolene Appreciated
The disagreement did not leave Jolene and Courtney permanently at odds. Jolene says Courtney later apologised, telling the magazine, “I really value that apology.”
She believes Courtney gained a better understanding of her after watching the season. Jolene also laughed about Adam’s view that the two women were alike, which might help explain why they clashed.
