Lisa told TV WEEK that Courtney and Sev’s larger cellar appeared to cost less than Adam and Jolene’s during Backyard and Garage Week on The Block.
She put the perceived value of the installation at $100,000. That is Lisa’s figure; the article does not supply invoices or a verified comparison of what each team paid.
For Lisa, the dispute also brought back questions about Rosco’s dad helping on site for $25 an hour. She felt scrutiny of that arrangement sat awkwardly alongside the cellar pricing.
“Nothing like shifting the spotlight,” she said.
Questions Over The Price Gap
Lisa and Rosco say they raised the issue with Courtney and Sev but were dissatisfied with the explanation. Lisa described the response as deflection, while Rosco said it made him suspicious.
No rule breach has been established, and the interview does not include Courtney and Sev’s account of the costs.
The questions follow another round of debate about Courtney and Sev’s perfect room score. This time, attention has shifted from the judges’ marks to the money behind the build.
The Sauna Challenge Draws Criticism Too
The magazine also describes Chantel and Wyatt questioning a challenge that gave Lisa and Rosco a chance to win back a sauna they could not afford. Their suggestion of favourable treatment remains an allegation.
Lisa was unimpressed. “Some of our neighbours have only ever said negative things about us in challenges,” she said.
