On The Block, the fallout from Rosco's dad's farewell dinner was still rumbling through the sharehouse, while House 3's budget crisis was getting impossible to ignore.

Courtney Makes Things Right With Jolene

After the disagreement over the surprise guests and Jolene's earlier interaction with Wyatt, Courtney realised she had dismissed Jolene's feeling of intimidation. She crossed the road to apologise for telling Jolene she could not feel that way.

Jolene accepted the apology and, mercifully, the issue was put to bed. After the chaos of the sharehouse guest blow-up, it was a rare bit of calm.

House 3's Books Are Cooked

There was no such relief for Lisa and Rosco. Foreman Dan said House 3 had not kept control of its spending or pushed back hard enough on huge tradie bills, and Lisa was left in tears as the payments piled up.

Her concern was simple and grim. She wanted to pay the tradies and send them home, which is not exactly the energy anyone wants heading into the biggest backyard week of the season.

A SaltPod Takes Flight, Then Gets Cut

While House 3 counted every dollar, Tayla was trying to land a SaltPod in House 5's backyard. The luxury pod was meant to pack a sauna, gym, spa bath and ice bath into one very flashy feature, but a measurement mistake left it dangling from a crane because it was too wide for the space.

Rick then noticed the bigger problem. The pod would block a key part of the backyard view, so he made the call to remove it without Tayla. She was on board, but it was a costly reminder that an impressive idea still has to fit.

Rick And Tayla Take Cheryoke

Elsewhere, Adam spotted Courtney and Sev's rooftop-terrace council application and quickly began rallying neighbours to object. The terrace saga is clearly not retiring quietly.

That night, the teams headed to a drive-in for Cheryoke with Scott Cam, Shelley Craft and All Stars Eliza and Liberty. Rick's backwards skating gave him and Tayla the edge, delivering a much-needed $10,000 budget boost.

A Prize With A Familiar Owner

With the budgets across site looking shaky, production rolled out a YouFoodz cooking challenge. Lisa and Rosco had already tried to sell their unaffordable sauna to Scott and Shelley, only for it to become part of the prize pool.

After 45 minutes in the kitchen, Lisa and Rosco won cash and their own sauna back. It may not fix every House 3 headache, but after a day that started with tears, it was one very welcome twist.
