Discussing his The Block rivals, Rick told Chattr he considered Adam and Jolene serious competition, describing their approach as “a little bit sneaky”. But his assessment came with credit for Jolene’s commitment to her strategy, rather than details of any alleged rule-breaking.

Rick said she had been disciplined about following the plan she brought into the competition. Asked whether there was more to come, he offered a suitably cryptic teaser: “There is something coming. Stay tuned.”

He did not identify the incident he meant. Anyone hoping for a fully itemised list of Block secrets will have to keep waiting.

Rick Says The Friendships Were More Complicated

For all his talk about gameplay, Rick said he and Adam and Jolene remained close. He initially gravitated towards the couple, but eventually developed an even stronger bond with Courtney and Sev next door.

Sev described another friendship taking shape, saying Lisa and Jolene became noticeably closer as the competition progressed.

Those shifting loyalties have had a very public test in the sharehouse guests dispute. Scott Cam ordered Adam’s son Kai, his friend Nick and Rosco’s dad Jimbo to leave after concerns about the living arrangements, and a farewell dinner became another argument.

Rick challenged Adam’s suggestion that the other teams had simply let Chantel take responsibility for the guests’ removal. Courtney and Sev backed Rick’s response at the table.

Courtney Describes Tension From A Distance

Courtney also recalled a week-eight challenge where the contestants were divided into groups. Separated from Tayla and Jolene, she said she could hear arguments and thought their interactions looked strained from a distance.

She did not explain what the disagreement was about, and her description was an observer’s impression of the dynamic.

There has since been a thaw in Courtney’s own dispute with Jolene. Courtney apologised for dismissing Jolene’s feelings about an earlier interaction with Wyatt. Jolene accepted the apology, giving at least one argument a quieter ending.
