The Liverpool-born rocker recently married his high-school sweetheart Abi, and told TV WEEK he invited his coach Melanie C to the celebration in Liverpool.
Melanie could not make it, with Jack saying she did not want to take the shine off the newlyweds. Still, it is a charming footnote to a coaching partnership built on their shared Liverpool connection.
From Wedding Plans To A Chair Turn
Jack said planning a wedding, turning 30 and thinking about the future helped push him to audition rather than keep putting music off. He had been working as a piling supervisor after moving to Australia, but decided it was time to give performing another serious shot.
Melanie turned her chair when he sang Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead Or Alive, and the pair quickly bonded over their hometown. Jack has called her his Scouse fairy godmother, which is surely the kind of coach compliment that deserves to be framed.
Abi has also been part of the journey, supporting Jack's return to music and helping with songwriting while they planned their wedding. A competition run can be chaotic enough on its own. Adding floral arrangements to the mix sounds like a full coaching challenge.
