The South Australian contestant was left furious when Colin used the same culinary term she had questioned moments earlier, making her feel as though she had been singled out and embarrassed in front of the table.

Yet in an interview with New Idea, Alisha and teammate Deanne made it clear there is no off-screen feud. In fact, Colin appears to be the judge they would most happily invite to the pub.

Alisha Says Colin Is More Relatable

Asked to choose between Colin and Manu Feildel, Deanne initially tried to avoid picking a favourite before admitting Colin would probably get her vote.

Alisha agreed, explaining that “Colin is just a bit more relatable”.

That verdict may surprise viewers who watched their tense exchange during Angus and Simon’s Instant Restaurant, but Alisha’s reasoning was characteristically straightforward. She joked that Colin was the more bogan of the two judges and seemed like someone she could “catch at the pub”.

It is a much warmer assessment than the dinner-table edit suggested. The walkout was clearly real, but it did not turn into a lasting personal battle between Alisha and Colin after the cameras stopped rolling.

Colin has also said he likes Alisha and Deanne despite their fiery start, suggesting the early confrontation eventually gave way to a friendlier relationship.

Why Alisha Walked Out Of The MKR Dinner

The argument began when Tiffany said a dish needed more acid. Alisha questioned the wording, only for Colin to use the same term later while delivering his critique.

Alisha felt the moment made her look foolish and believed the judge had taken sides. She left the table with Deanne following close behind, while Colin went outside to speak with them before they eventually returned.

Alisha later said she had been ready to flip the table, but she also insisted there was no bad blood with Colin.

The latest comments reinforce that distinction. Alisha was angry about what happened in the moment, not declaring a permanent feud with the chef.

Colin Also Won Angus Over

Alisha and Deanne were not the only contestants asked to weigh in on the judges. Angus admitted he initially leaned towards Manu after feeling targeted by Colin’s teasing.

His opinion changed once he realised the jokes were not reserved for him. Colin spread the banter around the table, and Angus came to appreciate that “he had some for everyone”.

That exchange captures the role Colin is already playing this season. His blunt humour can put contestants on edge, but it can also make him feel more accessible once they understand that everyone is fair game.

The Jane And Colin Connection Still Raised Questions

Alisha and Deanne’s relaxed view of Colin does not mean they ignored his prior connection to fellow contestant Jane.

Colin revealed during the first Instant Restaurant that he already knew the NSW food stylist through the hospitality industry. That disclosure prompted some cast members to wonder whether Jane and husband Shane could receive an advantage, even though Colin denied any favouritism.

Alisha and Deanne admitted the connection crossed their minds. Their concern was about fairness in the competition, however, rather than evidence that the judge had actually changed a score.

The dynamic has also fed the pair’s wider rivalry with Jane. Other MKR contestants have questioned the Colin connection, but the real test will come when Jane and Shane serve their own menu and are judged on the food.

For Alisha, the position is now fairly clear. She can challenge Colin at the table, question how a moment played out and still believe he would be good company over a beer.
