Leyla Sabo, Taylor Beadle-Williams, Charlotte June and Tika Cetinich were eliminated during Sunday night's The Voice Australia Semi Final as each coach chose one act for the public vote.

In post-elimination interviews with New Idea, Leyla, Taylor and Charlotte opened up about their exits and where they hope to go next. Tika also left the competition with a new sense of confidence after an encouraging final message from Richard Marx.

What Comes Next After The Voice Semi Final?

The four exits have produced four very different road maps. Taylor is thinking about acting and an eventual EGOT, Charlotte is preparing to move interstate, Leyla is balancing school with new music, and Tika leaves with her coach firmly backing her future.

There were tears on the night, but none of the departing artists is treating the Semi Final as a finish line.

Leyla Sabo Is Back At School After Making Voice History

Leyla admitted she had a feeling Ronan Keating might choose The 60Four, but that did not make the decision any less heartbreaking.

She described her time on the show as “a beginning rather than an ending” and celebrated becoming the youngest artist to reach an adult Semi Final in the franchise's global history.

The 13-year-old was hardly starting from scratch. Leyla had released original music and performed for huge crowds before The Voice, and she is now working on more live performances and songs of her own.

Her public profile has exploded along the way, with Leyla saying her social accounts have attracted more than 30 million profile visits. Her mum Annie is still helping to manage that attention alongside a management team, continuing the careful balance between fame, family and school they described earlier in the season.

One day Leyla was performing for a national audience. The next, she was back in class with friends asking whether she really had been on television the night before.

Taylor Beadle-Williams Has An EGOT In Her Sights

Taylor lost Team Mel C's Grand Finale place to Yung Milla, but she had already prepared herself for that possibility after watching the bond between her teammate and coach grow.

She left feeling “proud of my performances” and satisfied that she had stayed true to her own style throughout the competition.

Her next move could take her beyond music. Taylor said she has felt drawn back to acting after previously appearing in Love Child, and she is not setting a modest target. Broadway or the West End could be on the wish list as she chases the full Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and Tony set.

That ambition comes with some serious musical pedigree. Taylor is the daughter of Dragon frontman Mark Williams, and the pair have performed together on stage.

Charlotte June Is Moving To Melbourne

Charlotte entered the Blind Auditions hoping to turn one chair. She eventually made it all the way to the Semi Final, where Kate Miller-Heidke chose Daisha Auda for the last round.

After performing Lizzy McAlpine's Ceilings, Charlotte wondered whether it had been the “right song for a semi-final”. She felt comfortable with the track from playing it at gigs, but believed it was difficult to create a huge television moment beside Daisha's performance of Rise Up.

There was no bitterness in her response. Charlotte praised Daisha's place in the final and said she was proud to have travelled so much further than she expected.

Original music is now in the works, and Charlotte plans to move from Adelaide to Melbourne in search of more creative opportunities.

Tika Cetinich Leaves With New Confidence

Richard chose Tommy Novak over Tika for Team Richard's Grand Finale place, but he encouraged her to keep going and backed her future beyond the show.

Tika credited Richard with helping her find “a belief in myself”, giving her Voice journey a powerful final note even without the trophy.

The four artists leave behind Daisha Auda, Yung Milla, Tommy Novak and The 60Four. Australia will now decide which of them wins $100,000, a recording and development package, and The Voice Australia title.
